Anti-Aging Ingredients

An important point to understand is there are two major theories of aging.  One is the oxidation theory which sees free radical damage as the cause of aging and anti-oxidants as the antidote.  The other theory is the "bioenergetic" aging model.  This theory postulates that aging involves breakdown of Mitochondrial DNA causing a decline in vitality.  You will notice that the ingredients we have selected for The Kitchen Sink MultiVitamin supports both models of aging theory.  In other words we have numerous anti-oxidants in the line up, but there are also several powerful anti-aging ingredients which involve mitochondrial normalizing actions.

Most MultiVitamins Do Not Have The New Anti-Aging Ingredients

In the past decade or two there has been a tremendous amount of good science done on a dozen or more anti-aging ingredients.  You have probably heard the buzz about items like Grape Seed Extract, Carnitine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Co-Q 10, and a few others, yet they are absent in almost all multi-vitamin formulas.  Why? Because they are darn expensive.  Many of these ingredients will offer benefits that are at least as important as some of the old standby vitamins, yet they are missing from most multivitamin formulas.
